SAN DIEGO -- A solo home run by senior Cynthia Fallowfield in the sixth inning proved to be the game-winner and No. 3 seed BYU upset No. 1 seed San Diego State 2-1.

Fallowfield (8-4) also picked up the win going 4 2/3 innings while fiving up one run and three hits. Sophomore Bre DeSanta (17-5) picked up the loss for the Aztecs.

The Cougars (36-16) scored first in the fourth inning as senior Brooke Cadiente singled down the left field line to score sophomore Katy Barnes, who pinch ran for Neta Lei, who reached on an error.
