PROVO, Utah — Both the BYU-Iowa State and BYU-Omaha softball series scheduled for Friday and Saturday this week have been canceled due to low temperatures forecasted in the Ames, Iowa area. Neither series will be rescheduled.

The Cougars have added three new games to their 2023 schedule after the four canceled games in Iowa. BYU will first make the trip back down to St. George to play a single game against Utah Tech on Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m. MDT.

It will then play a home doubleheader against Idaho State on Saturday, March 18, with first pitches scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. MDT. Broadcast and streaming plans for all three new games will be announced at a later date.

BYU is still scheduled to play its home opener against Utah on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. MDT. The game will be broadcast on BYUtv and streamed on the BYUtv app. Admission is free.
