LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman Rylee Jensen was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading No. 20 BYU softball to four run-rule wins last week.

After picking up her second West Coast Conference Player of the Week nod, Jensen won the first national weekly award of the year by any player on the team.

Over the four wins last week, Jensen led BYU with a .667 batting average, tallying 12 RBI, eight runs and three home runs. She had a .786 on-base percentage over the four games after being walked five times in addition to her 6-of-9 hitting.

In the doubleheader against San Diego on Friday, she hit a walk-off home run in both games to earn run-rule wins after five innings. In the first game of that doubleheader, Jensen notched a career-high five RBI. Her efforts led the Cougars to their first WCC series sweep in program history where all wins were run-rule wins. Additionally, she pushed BYU to four-straight run-rule wins for the first time since 2008.

The Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Pitcher of the Week was Kent State's Ladines Garner. To see the full release, head to the NFCA website.
