BYU finishes off fall schedule with two wins over UNLV
LAS VEGAS – BYU won both games of a doubleheader against UNLV, 11-0 and 2-1, on the road on Saturday to cap off the fall exhibition schedule.
“Our pitchers threw very well today, and our defense behind them was exceptional,” BYU head coach Gordon Eakin said. “We had great offensive efforts and execution today from the entire lineup and some timely hitting. It was a great way to wind up our fall season.”
In the first game, McKenna Bull pitched all seven innings. She allowed four hits and no runs in the 11-0 shutout.
Arianna Paulson pitched the first four innings of the second game, giving up one run. Closing the game, Olivia Sanchez did not allow any runs. In the fourth inning, Ashley Thompson hit a double to drive in Lauren Bell and McKenzie St. Clair for the winning runs.
The Cougars’ fall season is over. The regular season will begin in February.
