SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After BYU secured its seventh conference championship in a row, the West Coast Conference announced junior outfielder Gordy Bravo as Player of the Week Monday.

Last week, Bravo led the Cougars to an outright clinch of the league championship title for the second year in a row. The Corona, California, native hit .500 going 6-for-12 from the plate including a double, one RBI and two runs scored.

She registered a .625 on-base percentage and drew four bases on balls in the four games while making several defensive plays in the outfield. Bravo helped BYU complete the doubleheader sweep of Santa Clara by going 1-for-2 while drawing two walks as the Cougars secured their 11th consecutive NCAA tournament berth. In the third game against the Broncos, she collected two hits to bring her season total to 70.

This honor is Bravo's second weekly award, and the seventh overall Player of the Week honor for the Cougars. Kate Moss of Saint Mary's was named WCC Pitcher of the Week.

BYU wraps up its home slate with a nonconference game against Utah Valley 5 p.m. MDT on Tuesday before its last series of the regular season this weekend against Loyola Marymount.
