BYU softball to face in-state opponent Weber State
PROVO, Utah – After a four-game home stand last weekend, BYU softball hits the road for one game against in-state opponent Weber State Tuesday at 3 p.m. MDT.
The Cougars (20-8) wrapped up their first four home games with a 3-1 mark, including a three-game sweep of Oklahoma State.
Against the Wildcats, BYU is 3-1 with a 6-1 victory in the most recent meeting between the teams April 30, 2014, in Ogden, Utah.
Last weekend three of the Cougars’ pitchers earned wins as McKenna Bull, Ashley Thompson and Arianna Paulson all turned in solid outings against the Cowgirls.
The sophomore Bull leads BYU with a 2.00 ERA and an 18-5 record—second in the nation in total victories.
At the plate, Gordy Bravo and Lacey Hofstedt are batting .444 and .425, respectively. Team leaders in RBI are Mercedes O’Connor (20), Ashley Thompson (18) and Sydney Broderick (17).
