Five earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors

PROVO, Utah --  The National Fastpitch Coaches Association recognized five players from the 2014 BYU softball roster for earning NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2013-14 academic year, the organization announced Thursday.
 
Former BYU softball players Carly Duckworth and Jenna Goar along with current players Brittany Call, Ashley Thompson and McKenzie St. Clair achieved the recognition by maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average. 
 
The 2014 season saw the Cougars take the inaugural softball West Coast Conference crown for its sixth-straight conference championship. BYU also appeared in the NCAA tournament for the 10th consecutive time.

The Cougars resume fall preseason play Tuesday at home against Salt Lake Community College at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Fans are welcome to come watch.
