PROVO, Utah Junior outside hitter Jake Langlois was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation/Molten Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Langlois was instrumental over the weekend in BYU’s two-match road sweep of then-No. 1 UCLA. On Friday, he collected 14 kills on a .393 clip to go along with four blocks, three digs and two aces. Then, on Saturday, Langlois contributed 11 kills while adding nine digs for a near double-double, in addition to putting up a career-high four aces and three blocks.

On the week, his steady play helped him collect 35 points, 25 kills, 12 digs, seven blocks and six aces while hitting at a .359 clip.

The wins were the first time in BYU history the Cougars won both regular-season matches at UCLA. The victories also keep BYU tied for first place in conference play with Stanford.

This is Langlois' first career MPSF honor and is BYU's second conference honor of the season as Ben Patch won the award on March 7.

The Cougars are home this week, facing USC in a two-match series beginning Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. MDT.
