ANAHEIM, Calif. — BYU men's volleyball freshman outside hitter Trent Moser has been added to the official travel roster for the 2023 FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship, taking place in Manama, Bahrain from July 7-16. The 12-athlete team was selected from a roster of 18 at the end of a five-day training block in Anaheim, California.
The group will first head to Sofia, Bulgaria, to train with teams from Brazil, Bulgaria and Iran from June 30-July 4. The team will then head to Bahrain for the World Championship.
Moser returns from the U21 Men's Team that won silver at the Pan American Cup earlier this summer in Havana, Cuba. In the championship match against Cuba, he tallied 23 kills on a .304 clip. Last year, Moser was also part of the team that won gold at the 2022 Men’s U21 Pan American Cup.
In his first season with the BYU men's volleyball team, Moser had 190 kills, 85 digs and 20 service aces. He started in 18 matches for the Cougars in 2023 and averaged 2.06 kills per set, along with 0.77 blocks per set.
