Reyes collects AVCA All-America honors
PROVO, Utah – The American Volleyball Coaches Association named Jaylen Reyes to the Division I-II All-America Honorable Mention squad Monday.
This is the first career AVCA honor for the Honolulu, Hawai’i, native.
The senior libero collected 224 digs (2.24 per set) in addition to 66 assists (0.66 per set) in his final season as a Cougar.
Reyes additionally collected a career-high 18 digs against Stanford on March 7 and posted double-digit digs on 10 occasions throughout the season.
The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation had seven players added to the first team and three to the second team. Additionally, 10 players were added to the honorable mention list.
The 2015 selections were made by the AVCA Division I-II Men’s Volleyball All-America Committee: chairperson Mark Pavlik (Penn State), Sam Shweisky (Princeton), Brian Baise (Harvard), Pete Hanson (Ohio State), Dan Friend (Lewis), Jeremy Price (Grand Canyon), Kevin Ring (UC San Diego), Bill Ferguson (USC), David Heller (Mount Olive), Brandon Skeweres (Limestone) and Cole Tallman (Erskine).
