Two Cougars in Top-20 After Day One

HONOLULU -- The BYU men's golf team finished round one of the John Burns Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii Wednesday in a tie for seventh place and two golfers in the top-20.

Senior Cameron Edens, who finished the Cougars' first spring tournament tied for 32nd place overall, carded four birdies for a 1-under 71 on day one and sits in a tie for eighth place going into round two.

Freshman Cole Ogden joined Edens in the top-20 by carding three birdies en route to a first-round 72 and is currently tied for 17th. The Cougars are only 11 strokes off the lead going into round two.

Coming off of his third top-10 finish of the 2010-11 season at the Arizona Intercollegiate in January, sophomore Zac Blair shot a first-round 76, moving him into a tie for 48th place in the competitive 17-team field.

Senior Esteban Calisto and junior Daniel Reid shot rounds of 75 and 77 respectively. Calisto recorded two birdies as he moved into a tie for 35th place and Reid sits tied for 58th.
