Cougars Continue to Lead the Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON -- The BYU men's golf team finished the second day of tournament play in first place at the Pacific Invitational.

The Cougars ended the day at 22-under-par, five strokes away from the second place team.

Daniel Summerhays is currently tied for first place at the Invitational with a nine-under. If Summerhays finishes the tournament in first place, this will be the first tournament win of his college career as well as his fourth top-10 finish of the season.

Fellow Cougar teammate Clay Ogden had an impressive day at the Brookside Country Club as he hit a 66 on the par 72 course. Ogden was able to sink seven birdies, which put him in fourth place.

Robbie Fillmore is competing in the first tournament of his college career and already turning heads. After a noted high school career, Fillmore is showing he can compete in college just as well. The Cougar from Salt Lake City is currently in twelfth place with a three-under-par.

Senior Jake Ellison is currently tied for 18th place with a one-under. Teammate Nick Becker is tied for 33rd with a one-over.

The men's golf team will finish the Pacific Invitational Wednesday. If the Cougars keep the lead, this will be the first team win of the season. Live stats are available on golfstat.com.
