HAYWARD, Calif. — Former BYU All-American Zac Blair is headed back to the PGA Tour. The former Cougar won his first Korn Ferry Tour (formerly Web.com) event on August 4 at the Ellie Mae Classic at the TPC Stonbrae Country Club.

Blair carded a final-round 67 to finish the four-day event at 66-65-65-67—263 (-17), one shot ahead of Brandon Crick (-16). The win jumped Blair up to No. 10 on the Korn Ferry points list and assured him of finishing among the top 25, which will give him status on the PGA Tour in 2020.

“I’m excited to get back out on the PGA Tour,” said Blair, who was a regular on Tour for three seasons from 2014-17. “I’ve been playing really well the past four or five weeks and knew I was getting close. It was nice to lock it up and get it done.”

The 28-year-old Blair is the son of former Cougar Jimmy Blair who was a two-time All-American at BYU from 1973-1977 and played on the PGA Tour between 1981-2002. The younger Blair first earned his PGA card in 2014 and played on the PGA Tour for three seasons from 2014-17.

Blair played in 24 events on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019, finishing the year with seven top-10 finishes and the fourth best scoring average on tour at 69.53. As a Cougar from 2009-12, Blair won four individual titles, finished in the top 20 in 31 events. He was also named third team All-American in 2012.
