Kuest leads three Cougars in WCC honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Peter Kuest led three members of BYU men’s golf in the West Coast Conference honors this season, earning Player of the Year and All-WCC First Team.

Kuest is the second consecutive Cougar to earn WCC Player of the Year, after Patrick Fishburn won the award last season. Kuest won five tournaments this season to put his name among the best at BYU and in the country. He was ranked as high as No. 4 in the NCAA player rankings this season and is currently ranked No. 6. He was also named to the All-WCC First Team in his freshman season at BYU back in 2017. 

Rhett Rasmussen joined Kuest on the All-WCC First Team, having also earned first-team honors as a freshman and honorable mention as a sophomore. Rasmussen finished in the top 10 in three tournaments this season including a third-place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational.

Freshman Carson Lundell was named All-WCC Honorable Mention in his first season at BYU. He had three top-10 finishes this season, including second place at the Nick Watney Invitational and a tie for sixth at last week’s WCC Championships.
