Rasmussen under par at Thunderbird Collegiate

PHOENIX – Rhett Rasmussen shot a one-under for BYU through two rounds at the Thunderbird Collegiate at Papago Golf Course.

"Rhett (Rasmussen) had a good day," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "We had trouble handling the wind and fast greens today. We need a solid round tomorrow."

Rasmussen is tied for 14th heading into Saturday's final round. Carson Lundell also cracked the Top 25 with a one-over. Peter Kuest followed with a three-over to be tied for 35th.

Kelton Hirsch and Brock Stanger rounded out the Cougars' five with scores of seven- and eight-over, respectively. Playing as an individual, Austin Banz also shot a seven-over.

BYU's nine-over had them in 10th place among 14 teams. Saint Mary's sat one stroke behind the Cougars for 11th, and Utah's 18-over put them in 14th place. Arizona State led the field by nine strokes with a team score of 13-under.
