Men travel to Arizona for first tournament of spring season
Provo, Utah – After three first place finishes in the fall, BYU men’s golf looks to begin its spring season Jan. 23-24, at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Arizona.
Over the course of two days, teams will play 54 holes at the Par 71 Sewailo Golf Club. The Cougars will participate in the tournament alongside host Arizona and 16 other teams, including two West Coast Conference opponents, Gonzaga and Pepperdine.
The field consists of California, Denver, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon, Pepperdine, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M, UCLA, UTEP, Washington and Washington State.
This will be the fourth consecutive year that the Cougars have attended the tournament. In the 2015-16 season, BYU finished sixth at the event, with Patrick Fishburn finishing in eighth place individually.
BYU men’s golf will begin the first round of the Arizona Intercollegiate at 8:00 a.m. MST on Jan. 23. Links to follow live scoring can be found on the BYU men’s golf schedule page.
