Day 1

DANVILLE, Calif. — Both shooting 2 under in round two, Spencer Dunaway and Patrick Fishburn helped BYU men's golf move to third place after the second day of the West Coast Conference Championship, Tuesday.

"We had a few good scores in today's round, "BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "We still put up some big numbers out there. If we can eliminate those numbers, we will be in it tomorrow. It will take a good, solid round of golf to get it done, but it's nothing we are not capable of doing."

Shooting a total round score of 291 as a team, the Cougars tied for the second best team score of the day. BYU moved from a sixth-place tie to having sole possession of third place. The Cougars shot 3 over as a team in Tuesday's round and sit at 7 over through 36 holes.

Dunaway and Fishburn both posted 70s in Tuesday's round. Dunaway is tied for fourth place individually at 3 under. The freshman birdied five holes on the day. Fishburn moved from 18th place to a sixth-place tie after day two. He sits at 2 under.

CJ Lee shot 1 over in the second round, birdying the sixth and 16th holes. Lee is tied for 18th place.

Austen Christiansen and Zach Pritchard are tied for 37th place. Christiansen shot 6 over Tuesday, while Pritchard shot 7 over. Christiansen and Pritchard both birdied the ninth hole.

BYU men's golf will play the third and final round of the WCC Championship Wednesday morning. Follow the Cougars live.
