BYU heads to Arizona for first spring tournament
PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s golf will participate in the first regular season tournament at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson next week, Jan. 26-27.
The 15-team tournament features five ranked teams, the highest ranked being No. 20 New Mexico. West Coast Conference foes Loyola Marymount, Pacific and Pepperdine will also be participating. Arizona is hosting the tournament at Sewailo Golf Club. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday to close out the tournament.
In this tournament last year, the Cougars finished in a tie for fifth place. Jordan Rodgers shot six-over-par and tied for 17th place.
BYU finished the fall season with a fourth-place finish at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, the highest finish of the fall season. The Cougars were led by senior Cole Ogden’s four-under-par, which put him in a tie for fourth place individually.
