  • Opened Odyssey Tennis Academy in southern France with brother. 

Playing Career

  • Sopel was a part of two Indiana teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament during her four years, and the Hoosiers were ranked as high as No. 23 in the nation during her career.

  • Sopel, along with teammate Leslie Hureau, earned a top national doubles ranking of No. 31.

  • Sopel was a three-time Academic All-American and three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.

Coaching Career

  • UTEP (Jan. 2014 - Aug. 2014) - Head Coach
    • Mentored two 2014 All-Conference USA singles third team members in senior standout Rebeca Calvillo and junior transfer Davina Meza. It was the first time since the 2001 season that two Miners were named all-conference in the same season.
  • University of Idaho (Jan. 2013 - Jan. 2014) - Head Coach
    • Two Vandals earned first team All-Western Athletic Conference honors at the No. 1 doubles position under Sopel's tutelage in 2013.
  • Wagner College (Aug. 2012 - Dec. 2012) - Head Coach
    • Team established a team winning record for the first time since September 2007 under Sopel’s coaching.
