Cougars Receive Seeds for MWC Tournament

PROVO -- The Mountain West Conference released Wednesday the Draws for the MWC Tennis Championships to be held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego Calif.

The No. 28 BYU women's team (18-6, 6-2) received a No. 2 seed for the tournament and will face No. 7 seed Colorado State (9-12, 2-6) in the first round. That match will be played Thursday April 27 at 10 a.m. The winner of that match will play the winner of UNLV (13-6, 6-2) and Utah (12-9, 3-5) on Friday April 28 at 2 p.m. TCU received the No. 1 seed in the women's bracket.

The No. 75 BYU men's tennis team (11-16, 4-2) made its way back into the national rankings through tough conference play and earned a No. 3 seed in the MWC Tournament. The Cougars will play No. 6 New Mexico (11-8, 2-4) in the first round on Thursday April 27 at 12 p.m. The winner of that match will play the winner of No. 2 TCU (14-9, 5-1) and No. 7 Air Force (11-10, 0-6) on April 28 at 10 a.m. San Diego State received the No. 1 seed for the men's bracket.
