FORT COLLINS -- The No. 21 BYU women's tennis team (19-5, 6-1) wrapped up the regular season of conference play this weekend as it defeated Wyoming 5-2 on Friday before coasing past Colorado State on Saturday posting a 6-1 finish.

"We had a really good weekend," head coach Craig Manning said. "The weather was terrible, but the girls all played well and had great attitudes. That made a big difference."

Playing strong at all three doubles spots, the Cougars swept the Cowgirls and Lady Rams beginning both matches with the early lead by claiming the doubles point.

In singles play against Wyoming, the Cougars swept the top three courts in straight sets, but fell at Nos. 4 and 6. Olga Boulytcheva also win in straight sets after coming from behind to push past her opponent 7-6 in the first set tiebreaker.

BYU finished off the Lady Rams in straight sets on all courts but No. 2 where Sofia Holden fought hard but eventually fell to Emily Kirchem of Colorado State in a 6-3, 6-3 decision.

The Cougars finish the regular season ranked No. 2 in the Mountain West Conference next to New Mexico. BYU will head to San Diego next week to compete in the conference championships.

PROVO -- Entering the final week of regular season Mountain West Conference play, the 21st-ranked BYU women's tennis team (17-5, 4-1) will face Wyoming in Laramie on Friday, followed by the final conference match against Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo., on Saturday.

The Cougars are ranked the highest in the Mountain West Conference so far this season followed by New Mexico at No. 28 and San Diego State at No. 69 respectively. In conference, BYU has posted wins over UNLV, San Diego State, Utah and Air Force and only one loss to New Mexico.

Friday's match-up against Wyoming features a 10-9 team that has only one conference win on the season. The Cowgirls of Wyoming earned their first conference win by defeating Utah last week 5-2. Wyoming is 1-5 in conference play and BYU is its final conference opponent before heading into the MWC Championships next week.

The 11-9 Colorado State Rams are even in conference play at 3-3 after beating Utah last week in a 5-2 decision at home. The Rams swept the Utes in doubles action and won four of the singles matches sealing the win and snapping a four-game losing skid.

The match against Wyoming will begin at 1 p.m. and played at the UW Tennis Courts. Saturday's match in Colorado will begin at 11 a.m.
