Women's volleyball announces spring foreign tour
PROVO, Utah — BYU women’s volleyball will embark on a two-week foreign tour next month, head coach Heather Olmstead announced today.
"This foreign trip has been a few years in the making and we’re very excited it’s finally here," Olmstead said. "Traveling to Egypt, Turkey and Greece is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our team to experience different cultures and volleyball styles. We look forward to strengthening our BYU volleyball culture, building and solidifying our relationships with each other and those we meet, and learning lifelong lessons. A lot of people made this trip happen and I can’t say thank you enough."
The Cougars will make stops in Cairo, Egypt and Istanbul, Turkey as well as Nafplio and Athens, Greece, facing several international teams along the way.
This will be the women’s volleyball program’s 11th international tour. The team typically travels internationally ever four years to participate in foreign competition, but this is BYU's first international trip since 2016. Read more about previous foreign tours at the women’s volleyball website.
