COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball named its 2022 Under 21 roster today, which included BYU volleyball head coach Heather Olmstead as an assistant coach for the team.

Olmstead is coming off of a season where she was named AVCA Pacific South Region Coach of the Year, her third time receiving the award. She led BYU to a 28-1 overall regular-season record in 2021 and an 18-0 undefeated record in West Coast Conference play to secure the Cougars’ sixth league title in her seventh season at the helm of BYU women’s volleyball. The Cougars entered the 2021 NCAA Tournament as the No. 11 seed and hosted the first and second rounds, marking the program’s 10th consecutive tournament berth. Under Olmstead, BYU has advanced to five Sweet 16s and the 2018 Final Four.

The USA U21 team will train May 26-June 4 at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. Out of 20 players who have been named to an initial roster, 12 will ultimately be chosen to compete at the 2022 Women’s U21 Pan American Cup on June 5-13 in Mexico.
