Gneiting invited to U.S. Women's National Team Spring Training Camp
ANAHEIM, Calif. – BYU senior middle blocker Heather Gneiting is one of approximately 20 collegiate student-athletes who has been invited to the U.S Women’s National Team Spring Training Camp in Anaheim, California.
The camp takes place March 5-12 and will consist of on-court trainings in addition to multiple classroom sessions with the U.S. Women's National Team coaching staff, directed by head coach Karch Kiraly.
Kiraly coached the U.S. Women's National Team to its first Olympic gold medal during the summer of 2021. The team went 7-1 in Tokyo, sweeping rival Brazil in the final. In 2021, the U.S. women also won their third consecutive FIVB Volleyball Nations League title.
Coming off of her junior season, Gneiting played in 32 matches and in 105 sets. She received multiple honors, including VolleyballMag.com All-America honorable mention, AVCA Pacific South All-Region and All-WCC First Team. Gneiting led the Cougars in hitting percentage, posting a .425 clip on her 227 kills. Additionally, she added 106 blocks and 21 service aces to her stat line.
