SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU opposite hitter Kenzie Koerber was named West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week and libero Madi Allen WCC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Both athletes won player of the week honors back in September, making this their second recognition of the season each.

Offensively, Koerber helped guide No. 8 BYU to a combined .373 hitting percentage in its sweep of No. 21 San Diego on Friday in the Smith Fieldhouse. At the top of the kills leaderboard, she slammed 17 with a .593 clip. It was her third-best hitting percentage this season. Further, the graduate senior notched four block assists, four digs and three assists in the win over the Toreros.

Defensively, Allen helped the Cougars hold the Toreros to their lowest hitting percentage of the season at .115. The sophomore averaged 4.67 digs per set, tallying a total of 14. Additionally, she tacked on six assists and three service aces.

These awards mark the fifth and sixth WCC weekly honors collected by BYU players this season. Most recently, junior setter Whitney Bower won Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 11 and graduate middle blocker Kennedy Eschenberg won Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 4.
