WCC dubs Kennedy Eschenberg as Defensive Player of the Week

SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU senior middle blocker Kennedy Eschenberg collected West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.

This past week, No. 10 BYU swept its first conference road trip of the season, dominating both Santa Clara and San Francisco. The All-American Eschenberg averaged 2.33 blocks per set. On Saturday against the Dons, she achieved four solo blocks.

Additionally, she boasted 10 kills with a .421 hitting percentage. 

This is Eschenberg’s first WCC weekly defensive honor this season. Last season, she received the award on three occasions. Within the team, sophomore libero Madi Allen won the award on Sept. 6.
