Women’s volleyball recruiting class ranked No. 7 by VolleyballMag.com

PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s volleyball class of 2021 was ranked No. 7 in the nation by VolleyballMag.com on Thursday, marking the third time in four years the Cougars have been ranked in the top 10. 

BYU’s incoming class is composed of three transfers and five high school recruits. The newcomers include Bri Albright, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker from Ladera Ranch, California; Sophia Callahan, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Encinitas, California; Kenzie Koerber, a 6-foot-3 opposite hitter from the University of Utah; Aria McComber, a 5-foot-6 libero from Washington State University; Zayna Meyer, a 6-foot-1 setter from Wheaton, Illinois; Alyssa Montoya, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter from Gilbert, Arizona; Gretchen Reinert, a 5-foot-6 libero from Santa Clara University; and Elyse Stowell, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Yorba Linda, California. 

In the last four years, the Cougars have ranked No. 7 in both 2018 and No. 2021 in the media outlet’s annual recruiting ratings. BYU also ranked No. 9 in 2019 and was among the programs listed as honorable mention in 2020. 

BYU announced its five high school signees in February before revealing the addition of transfers Koerber and Reinert in April and McComber in June. VolleyballMag.com ranked its top 10 recruiting classes for 2021 while listing another 10 classes as honorable mention. The complete 2021 rankings can be found on volleyballmag.com.
