Lake Honored as a Top Student-Athlete Nationally
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Mary Lake of BYU women's volleyball was named to the Senior CLASS Award All-American Second Team on Wednesday.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Lake is a three-time AVCA All-America honoree and was named the West Coast Conference's top defender each of the last three seasons. The Cougars' all-time digs leader, this past summer Lake played on the U.S. Senior National Team as Team USA won the Volleyball Nations League and qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is also a master’s of accounting student in the BYU Marriott School of Business with a 3.68 GPA who has extensively served her campus, church and community throughout her time at BYU.
