Miller Wins WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif - BYU senior outside hitter McKenna Miller was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week for her performances over three matches at the BYU Doterra Classic last week.

Miller was named MVP of the Doterra Classic after helping the ?th-ranked Cougars to wins over LIU, Sam Houston State and Weber State. The senior totaled 36 kills on a .321 hitting percentage with 13 digs, three aces, three blocks and two assists.

Last Thursday, Miller hit an outstanding .409 behind 10 kills with an ace in a sweep of LIU. The following day, she put up 15 more kills while adding an ace, three digs and three blocks to defeat Sam Houston State. Miller capped it all off with 11 kills, nine digs and an ace in a sweep of Weber State to give BYU the Doterra Classic title.

A three time All-America honoree, Miller now has double-digit kills in each of BYU’s six matches this season after returning from season-ending ACL surgery late last year. She and the Cougars will next travel to compete in the Shocker Volleyball Classic this week against Wichita State, No. 3 Texas and VCU starting Thursday, Sept. 12.
