PORTLAND, Ore. — Roni Jones-Perry received the 2019 West Coast Conference Mike Gilleran Scholar-Athletes of the Year Award at the tenth annual WCC Honors Dinner, held in conjunction with the Executive Council and Presidents' Council meetings Wednesday night.

BYU volleyball student-athlete and All-American Jones-Perry took home the Women's award, while Gonzaga men's basketball student-athlete Josh Perkins was the recipient of the Men's award.

BYU and Gonzaga are taking the Women's and Men's awards, respectively, for the second time in three years. Cougars student-athlete Amy Boswell, also a finalist for NCAA Woman of the Year last year, was the recipient of the Women's award in 2017 while Gonzaga men's basketball student-athlete and All-American Nigel Williams-Goss won the Men's award.

The Mike Gilleran Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of the WCC's Executive Council to recognize the finest accomplishments in athletics, academics and community service by individuals who have completed their collegiate eligibility. The award is named in honor of the conference's first full-time commissioner, Mike Gilleran.
