Jones-Perry Named Academic All-American
PROVO, Utah – Senior outside hitter Roni Jones-Perry was named to the women’s volleyball 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
An exercise science major with a 3.63 GPA, Jones-Perry is seventh Cougar women’s volleyball player to earn Academic All-America; the award is the 11th citation overall for the program.
A national player of the year candidate, Jones-Perry has already been named the West Coast Conference and Pacific South Region Player of the Year. She currently ranks No. 4 in the nation in kills per set and points per set and is 10th in program history in career kills. Jones-Perry and the Cougars were ranked No. 1 for 11-straight weeks this season and have since won four matches in the NCAA Tournament to reach the third Final Four in school history. BYU will face No. 1-seed Stanford on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m. MT in Minneapolis on ESPN.
