No. 1 BYU Travels to Portland, Gonzaga

PROVO, Utah – No. 1 BYU women’s volleyball takes its undefeated record on the road to take on Portland this Thursday and Gonzaga on Saturday afternoon.

Last Week

The Cougars (20-0, 10-0 WCC) swept Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine at home last week to remain to remain undefeated and first place in the league standings.

Portland

  • BYU faces Portland (16-5, 4-5 WCC), currently sixth in the WCC, at the Chiles Center on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. PDT.
  • The Cougars hold a 14-1 lead in the series, including a 6-1 record at Portland.
  • BYU has won the past four meetings, including a 3-0 win in Provo on Sept. 29.
  • Portland played one game last week, winning 3-0 at Gonzaga on Saturday.

Gonzaga

  • The Cougars face off against the Bulldogs (6-14, 3-6 WCC), seventh in the WCC, at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. MDT.
  • BYU has an 18-1 all-time record against Gonzaga and is a perfect 7-0 against the Bulldogs in Spokane.
  • The Cougars have won the past 13 meetings against Gonzaga, including a sweep at home on Sept. 27 earlier this season.
  • Gonzaga hosts San Diego on Thursday before hosting the Cougars Saturday afternoon.
