No. 8 BYU travels to Duke for season opener

PROVO, Utah – No. 8 BYU women’s volleyball travels to Duke this week to open the season with a pair of matches.

The Cougars played an exhibition match last week at home against Utah Valley, picking up a sweep. The Blue Devils did not play a preseason match.

Duke

  • BYU leads the overall series history with Duke 2-0.
  • The two teams last met in 2005 when the Cougars won a five-set matchup on a neutral court in Columbus, Ohio.
  • The Blue Devils went 19-12, 11-9 ACC (T-8th) in 2017.
  • Duke was picked to finish fifth in the Preseason ACC Coaches’ Poll.
