No. 9 Cougars to face Waves and No. 17 Toreros
PROVO, Utah – No. 9 BYU women’s volleyball returns home to the Smith Fieldhouse this week to compete against Pepperdine before hitting the road against league rival No. 17 San Diego.
Pepperdine
- The Cougars face the Waves Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. MDT, at the Smith Fieldhouse.
- BYU holds a 22-8 advantage in the overall series history.
- The Cougars have won the past 10 meetings with Pepperdine, including a sweep in the latest meeting a year ago.
- The Waves won their only match last week against Loyola Marymount and are 9-5, 1-0 WCC so far this year.
No. 17 San Diego
- BYU competes against San Diego Saturday, Sept. 30, at noon PDT, at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
- The Cougars and Toreros are tied 7-7 all-time in the series history.
- Each team swept the visiting squad on its home court last year.
- San Diego is 9-3, 2-0 WCC this season, falling only to ranked UCLA, Texas and Utah.
Tuesday’s match against Pepperdine will be televised live on BYUtv and simulcast on BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Additionally, $1 drinks and $1 popcorn will be available for purchase.
