Two Cougars named AVCA All-Americans
PROVO, Utah – Cougars Amy Boswell and McKenna Miller have been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I All-Americans, the organization announced Wednesday.
Boswell, a senior from Aloha, Oregon, was named AVCA First-Team All-America. She led the team in blocks per set (1.26) and hitting percentage (.372). Boswell was added to the All-WCC First Team as well as the All-Pacific South Region First Team earlier this year. Additionally, she was named the CoSIDA Academic All-America Player of the Year for the sport of volleyball.
Boswell was previously named to the third team last season as well as the honorable mention squad as a sophomore.
Miller, a freshman native of Murrieta, California, was named AVCA Third-Team All-America. She led the team in kills per set (3.89) and finished second in the WCC in kills. Miller was named the WCC Freshman of the Year and added to the All-WCC First Team as well as the Freshman Team and the All-Pacific South Region First Team.
Boswell and Miller were the only WCC players to make either the first, second or third team.
