Boswell takes WCC Player of the Week honors
PROVO, Utah – Senior middle blocker Amy Boswell was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In the first match of the week against Gonzaga, Boswell contributed 14 kills while hitting at a .435 clip to go along with three blocks, two digs and an ace. Then, in a revenge-match sweep of Portland, she added double-digit kills again with 10 while chipping in a match-high six blocks.
On the week Boswell averaged 3.43 kills per set while hitting at a .400 clip to go with 1.29 blocks per set.
The two wins helped propel No. 12 BYU women's volleyball into a tie for first place in the conference standings with San Diego.
This is Boswell’s first conference weekly honor of the year and third of her career. It is the second honor for the Cougars this year after Mary Lake won the award after the second week of competition.
