Cougars to host top-20 showdown with No. 5 San Diego

PROVO, Utah – No. 16 BYU women’s volleyball stays at home this week to host No. 5 San Diego in a top-20 showdown.

Last Time Out

The Cougars dispatched Pepperdine in three and Loyola Marymount in five at home to improve to 19-3 overall and 8-2 in West Coast Conference play.

San Diego

  • BYU faces off against San Diego (19-2, 10-0 WCC) Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. MDT.
  • The Toreros are on an 18-match win streak, one shy of tying the best in program history.
  • San Diego won the last matchup earlier this year at Jenny Craig Pavilion in three sets.
  • The Toreros hold a 7-6 advantage in the overall series history.
  • The Cougars have won the past four meetings between the two schools at the Smith Fieldhouse.

There will be $1 Cougartails for sale at the match. Additionally, Friday’s match is the Halloween Game. Fans are encouraged to dress up in costumes for games and prizes.
