Cougars begin spring practice, competition
PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s volleyball begins spring practice today, preparing for several offseason matches in March and April.
Spring play will launch at the Smith Fieldhouse with a match against cross-county foe Utah Valley on March 4 at 3 p.m. MST. The Cougars last played the Wolverines in Orem during the 2015 season, picking up a sweep in their last regular-season nonconference match.
BYU will stay at home for another match the following week on March 11 at 3 p.m. MST against the University of Utah. The Cougars have won the last five regular-season meetings against the Utes, including a 3-0 victory in Salt Lake City in 2015.
BYU will then travel up the road to the University of Utah on April 2 to take part in an all-day spring tournament. The Cougars will follow up that invitational with another one at Utah Valley on April 9.
In 2015, the Cougars finished with a 28-4 overall record, finishing first place in the West Coast Conference for a second-consecutive year and advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament for a fourth-straight season.
