Gray collects WCC Player of the Week accolades

PROVO, Utah – Senior outside hitter Alexa Gray was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, following her performances against Saint Mary’s and Pacific.

On Thursday, Gray led No. 14 BYU women’s volleyball to a sweep against the Gaels behind 21 kills and eight digs.

Then, in a sweep against the Tigers, Gray contributed a double-double of 20 kills and 12 digs. She also added five blocks and two assists in the victory.

For the week, Gray averaged 7.50 points, 6.83 kills, 3.33 digs and 1.00 blocks per set while hitting a blistering .413 clip.

The wins keep BYU at the top of the conference standings with a 21-3, 11-2 WCC record.

This is Gray’s second weekly honor of the season and fourth of her career.
