PROVO, Utah – Junior middle blocker Amy Boswell was added to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team, the organization announced Thursday.

Boswell is one of just two juniors playing collegiate volleyball in the West and Canada (District 8) to be added to the team by a vote of collegiate sports information directors. She advances to the All-America First, Second and Third Team voting which will take place later this month.

Boswell is majoring in nursing and has maintained a 3.90 GPA through her first three years at BYU.

The Aloha, Oregon native is currently the No. 1 blocker in the West Coast Conference, averaging 1.45 blocks per set. She also sits at No. 18 in the nation in blocks per set.

In 2014, Boswell was named the Elite 89 recipient at the NCAA Volleyball Championships for having the highest GPA amongst the Final Four teams. Additionally, last year she finished as the No. 2 blocker in the nation (blocks per set and total).

Boswell is the only representative selected from the WCC this year. This is her second-consecutive Academic All-District First Team honor.
