Gray named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Junior outside hitter Alexa Gray was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, after leading No. 13 BYU women’s volleyball (21-4, 12-2 WCC) to a pair of sweeps at home last week against Saint Mary’s and Pacific. 

The wins keep BYU at the top of conference play by a two-match margin.

In the first match against the Gaels, Gray contributed a team-high 13 kills to go along with a team-high four blocks. She hit a .323 clip and added a service ace in the match. Against the Tigers, Gray again led the team in kills with 18 while adding another four blocks.

For the week, Gray averaged 5.17 kills per set as well as 1.33 blocks per set. She totaled 31 kills hitting on a .306 clip as well as eight blocks, two digs and a service ace.

This is the second WCC Player of the Week honor for Gray this season and third for her career.
