Hamson collects WCC Player of the Week honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Senior opposite Jennifer Hamson was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, after leading No. 11 BYU women’s volleyball (18-3, 9-1 WCC) to a pair of league victories last week.

The wins against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine keep BYU in first place in conference play.

In the first match of the week in a sweep against the Lions, Hamson led the team with 13 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. She added five blocks and a service ace in the victory. Against the Waves, Hamson had a team-high 20 kills and a .400 clip to go along with six blocks and a pair of assists.

For the week, Hamson collected a total of 33 kills on a .418 clip, 11 blocks, five digs, two assists and a service ace. 

This is the fifth WCC Player of the Week honor for Hamson in volleyball.
