Eight Cougars named to WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – BYU women’s volleyball had eight student-athletes selected to the West Coast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Amy Boswell and Tia Withers Welling earned Gold Honors (4.00-3.75), Tambre Nobles and Whitney Young earned Silver Honors (3.74-3.50) and Ciara Parker, Jessica Jardine, Hannah Robison and Makenna Santiago received Bronze Honors (3.49-3.00).
The WCC recognized more than 1,000 student-athletes from 10 schools for balancing academic excellence and athletic success.
To be named to the WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll student-athletes must have earned a varsity letter in a sport where the WCC crowned a champion in the 2013-2014 season while maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher and completing an average of 12 graded credit hours per term.
The honor roll recipients are split into three categories based on GPA. Gold honors go to student-athletes who earned a 3.75 or higher. Silver honors are awarded to those student-athletes with GPAs between 3.74 and 3.50, and bronze honors go to student-athletes with GPAs between 3.49 and 3.00.
