Cougars travel to No. 9 San Diego for final conference showdown
PROVO, Utah – The No. 21 BYU women’s volleyball team will travel to No. 9 San Diego on Saturday for the final conference match of the season.
The Cougars (22-5, 15-2 West Coast Conference) swept Gonzaga and Portland at home last week. BYU finished out the regular season with a perfect 11-0 home record. The Cougars extended their home winning-streak to 26-straight, good for fourth all-time in the Smith Fieldhouse.
San Diego (23-3, 15-2 WCC) and BYU will face off on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. PST. The Cougars swept the Toreros in both teams’ first WCC matchup of the season. San Diego was ranked No. 2 nationally at the time. The Toreros hold the advantage in the overall series, 4-3.
BYU and San Diego are currently tied for first-place in the WCC. In a winner-takes-all scenario, the Cougars must win on Saturday to secure a second consecutive conference championship.
