PROVO, Utah – The men’s and women’s diving teams will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to take part in the Air Force Invite at the USAFA Cadet Natatorium Friday and Saturday.

“This will be a great tune-up meet for us this weekend,” head diving coach Keith Russell said. “We will be able to practice some new dives as well as work on fine-tuning the little things in preparation for the conference meet as well as the zone meet.”

The Cougars will be competing against new and familiar opponents. Former MWC foes Colorado State, Wyoming and host Air Force will be there as well as the University of Denver and Boise State, whom BYU has competed against earlier this year.

Last weekend against DU both Dayna Christensen and Nicholas Suder both swept the 3-m and 1-m boards.  Christensen scored 277.95 on the 1-m and 340.65 on the 3-m. Raleigh Williams Taylor was second in both events, scoring 274.73 and 285.83 on the 1-m and 3-m, respectively. Suder scored 319.80 on the 1-m and 340.65 on the 3-m. David Corless was second on the 3-m with a score of 298.95 and Matt Hopper was second in the 1-m with a score of 308.03.

This will be the last meet for the divers before the MPSF Championships that will take place Feb. 20-23. The diving meet against Stanford slated for Feb. 8 was cancelled. Check the women’s schedule page for results of the meet.
