Colohan garners second WCC Player of the Week award

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Junior midfielder Mikayla Colohan was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.

Colohan scored a goal and recorded a pair of assists in both of BYU's wins over Pepperdine and Pacific to keep the Cougars undefeated in league play. On the week, she tallied two goals, four assists, eight points, 11 shots and 129 minutes played.

BYU topped Pepperdine in a dominant 5-1 performance at South Field. The first goal of the game came in the fourth minute of play as Colohan combined with Cameron Tucker to set SaraJayne Affleck up for the goal. In the 22nd minute, she once again assisted as Flake found the back of the net. Colohan then connected with the goal in the 54th minute for the Cougars' final goal of the game.

Another dominant performance over Pacific resulted in a 6-0 victory as Colohan scored the game-winner in just the third minute of action. She went on to assist Tucker in the 31st and Affleck in the 69th.

The Kaysville, Utah native has also earned recognition this season as a MAC Hermann Trophy watch list nominee and was named to the WCC Preseason Team. She was named WCC Player of the Week for the first week in August.
