BYU CLUB RECORD: 128-25-9; six years as club coach

As the only head coach in program history, Jennifer Rockwood has taken the BYU women's soccer team to national prominence and established herself as one of the premier coaches in Division I soccer today. Rockwood has an impressive 407-118-45 overall record for her career. Over the last 25 seasons at the helm of the BYU women's soccer program, Rockwood has accumulated a .714 winning percentage.

Rockwood has guided the Cougars to 13 regular season conference championships and eight conference tournament championships during her tenure. On the national scene, her teams have made 22 appearances in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet Sixteen in 1998, 2000, 2003, 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2021. The Cougars have reached the Elite Eight in 2003, 2012, 2019 and 2021. In 2005, she led her team to its first national seed (No. 4) in the NCAA Tournament.

In one of BYU's most successful seasons, 2012, the Cougars were ranked as high as No. 2 and received a No. 1 seed in the NCAA College Cup, the first women's program at BYU to ever be awarded a 1-seed. The team went 20-2-2 with four wins over teams ranked in the Top 25 throughout the season. 

In 2019, the Cougars entered the NCAA Tournament as the only undefeated team in the country with an 18-0-1 overall record at the close of the regular season. BYU finished the season after falling in the Elite 8 to No. 1 Stanford. At the close of the season, the Cougars were ranked fifth nationally.

BYU regularly maintains a consistent Top 25 ranking. Under Rockwood's tutelage, the team finished in the Top 10 in 1998, 2000, 2003, 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2021 and have finished in the Top 25 13 times in 25 years.

Among the many achievements and awards she has received over her career, Rockwood has been honored with seven conference Coach of the Year awards, one by the Western Athletic Conference in 1996, two by the Mountain West in 2000 and 2008, and four from the WCC in 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2019. In 1996 and 2012, Rockwood was also Region Coach of the Year. In 2019, Rockwood and her staff were recognized as the United Soccer Coaches Regional Staff of the Year.

She also became the first MWC coach to eclipse the 100-win and 200-win marks with a shutout at Milwaukee-Wisconsin, 2-0, on Sept. 23, 2000. Her 200th win happened on Sept. 24, 2007 when BYU beat Washington 2-1 at home. She won her 300th game over San Francisco 2-0 on Oct. 10, 2013.

A long list of All-American soccer players has emerged from BYU's program and Rockwood's influence. These athletes include Shauna Rohbock, Katie Larkin, Jaime Rendich Beck, Aleisha Rose, Michelle Jensen, Lindsi Lisonbee Cutshall, Michele Vasconcelos, Ashley Hatch, Cameron Tucker and Mikayla Colohan.

Prior to becoming head coach at BYU, Rockwood led BYU's highly successful club soccer team for seven years. In that time she amassed an overall record of 128-25-9. The final two years she took her teams to the Western National Collegiate Club soccer Association (NCCSA) title and placed second in the NCCSA National Championships.

The Lake Oswego, Oregon, native was a four-sport athlete in high school playing soccer, softball, basketball and track. After one year at Rick's College on a basketball scholarship, she transferred to BYU where she became a four-year starter at center midfield on the Cougars' club soccer team and graduated in finance, business management. Rockwood has also coached youth club programs, high school teams and the Utah Olympic Development Program.
