PROVO -- The No. 33 BYU women’s gymnastics team will travel to Boise State to take on the host, No. 29 Boise State Broncos, and No. 49 Utah State. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. MT at the Taco Bell Arena.

“We are optimistic about the meet Friday,” Cougar head coach Brad Cattermole said Monday. “I think we have a good shot in this meet so we just need to go out and perform to the best of our ability.”

The Cougars have faced the Utah State Aggies twice this season. BYU turned in their most impressive scores thus far in the season in its last meet vs. the Aggies finished with a team total of 195.350. The score was BYU’s highest score since March 10, 2008 when it posted a 196.300 against Utah State.

BYU has not yet faced Boise State this season but in the all-time meetings between the two teams the Cougars holds a 34-8 lead over the Broncos. However, Boise State currently hold a higher ranking and in the last meeting between the two teams the Broncos earned the win.

The Cougars continue their quest to return to NCAA regionals in April. They are currently ranked No. 6 in the North Central Region.
