Margraf, Millar named to CSC Academic All-District Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sophomores Mina Margraf and Eliza Millar received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced today.

To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be a starter or significant reserve in at least half of their team’s games during the 2023 season. 

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Those who are selected for first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Thursday, June 22.

"As coaches, we are so proud of Mina and Eliza for the work they put into being as successful in the classroom as they are in the gym," associate head coach Natalie Broekman said. "The academic rigors at BYU are significant, and we know that this kind of success only comes through sacrificing time in other areas of their lives. They are both great examples of prioritizing now what is most important for their futures. We are happy to see them recognized for these accomplishments." 

Margraf, an exercise and wellness major with a 3.54 GPA, competed on the balance beam in every meet this season, notching a new career-high score of 9.925 on the apparatus. The Spring, Texas native earned Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Beam Specialist of the Week honors twice in the 2023 season. She also competed on floor in two meets, with a career-high score of 9.775.

Millar is receiving academic honors for the first time of her career and studies Neuroscience, with a 3.97 GPA. The Cincinnati, Ohio native competed on floor in every meet this season, earning a new career-high score of 9.875. Millar also contributed on beam in the 2023 season, competing four times on the apparatus, earning a season-high score of 9.800.
