WCGA names BYU’s Sadie Miner-Van Tassell and Elease Rollins as All-Americans
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Regular-season All America Award winners for the 2022 season were announced today by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association, and BYU gymnasts Sadie Miner-Van Tassell and Elease Rollins were both honored.
Student-athletes with the top eight National Qualifying Scores (NQS) for the regular season (with ties) for each event plus the all-around earned All-America honors. Second-team All-America honors were earned by student-athletes ranked Nos. 9-16 (with ties) in the NQS.
Miner-Van Tassell was named an All-Around Second Team regular-season award winner with an NQS of 39.480. She competed in the all-around for 11 out of 12 meets this season, including the MRGC Championship. Miner-Van Tassell’s highest all-around score this season was a 39.525, which she received three separate times. This career-high all-around score is tied with four other BYU gymnasts for No. 10 highest score in program history.
Rollins was named a Balance Beam Second Team regular-season award winner with a final NQS of 9.930 on the apparatus. She competed on the beam in all 12 meets this season, notching her new career-high score of 9.975. This score is tied with several other BYU gymnasts for No. 2 highest beam score in program history.
